I appreciate you providing the exact investigation number. This ticket is still in progress. Rest assured our Product Team is finding the root cause of the issue.
For now, the recommended workaround is to export the employee list via IIF, then import it back to QuickBooks. Doing this will help stop the system to freeze. Before proceeding, make sure to back up your company file since imports are irreversible.
Let me show you how:
You can also refer to the Tasks you can do with IIF files link for more details with the steps above.
Thanks for your patience and understanding while we look into this.
Employee screen still freezing on me. I have YET to update all my employee information (rate, deduction changes) for 2020. It takes me hours just to get two employees info updated. Very Very hard working this way. I am on the list to get updates for INV-24741 - but it has been 3 months of the employee screen freezing. We've been told they are working on it... but can you tell us if there is anyp progress?
INV-24741: This worked for me today: I closed all services running (via admin account) - not sure if that helps or not... Then I unplugged the network cable from PC. The Employee Screen worked - and it was FAST! As if taking away any internet connection stopped the employee screen from crashing. Just a thought for others to try - and the Intuit team trying to solve it to also tryout.
Thank you for following up on this issue. I'd be glad to provide you with some information about this investigation.
I did some research and did find that this investigation is still in progress. This issue can be caused by invalid characters in the Notes section of the Employee record.
For now, you can refer back to my colleague @MaryLandT's steps for the workaround as this issue is in the process of getting resolved.
Since you're already added to the list of affected users, you can check your email for future updates.

I figured out the same about the notes screen. I think it's from the notes that are automatically entered when you change an employee's pay rate. I really can't believe that such a large company like Intuit can not fix such a simple issue. I see comments from 6 months ago about this issue and it is still going on with no progress at all. Exporting and importing doesn't fix it. That just caused all of our employee's addresses to have the city state and zip on two lines instead of one requiring more wasted time to edit each employee. Compete and total lack of support from Intuit. Very vary sad and totally unacceptable.
