QBOP Core: unable to import paychecks- "error on line 22"

With the new Quickbooks Payroll online: when importing payroll into my Quickbooks desktop for MAC, I'm getting a Warning: you cannot record a negative deposit. Followed by "error on line 22: can't record invalid transaction".

What is that all about? I've gotten that before and finally was able to import to accounting, but this time it's being stubborn. It is definitely not a negative deposit. Anybody else having this issue? Glitch?

QBOP Core: unable to import paychecks- "error on line 22"

I've got a couple of steps and info to ensure you can import your payroll data seamlessly from QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP) to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac, @Filippa.

The error indicates that your QuickBooks file is damaged. To fix this, you'll have to verify its integrity. However, before doing so, it's important to back up your QBDT for Mac company file for future use.

Whenever you're ready, follow these steps:

  1. In your QuickBooks for Mac file, go to the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities, then Verify Data.
  3. QuickBooks will check the file for damage and notify you if it finds any. If errors are found, continue with the next step.
  4. Go to the File menu.
  5. Select Utilities, then Rebuild Data.
  6. Once the Rebuild is complete, import  your data once again.

Also, to learn some best practices in managing your QBOP account and QBDT for Mac company file, I'd recommend checking out this article: QuickBooks Help Articles. You can toggle between your products in the Select a product section. Then, explore helpful video tutorials to know your way around QuickBooks.

Let me know in the comments if you have other payroll and importing concerns in QuickBooks. I'm always around to help. Keep safe, and I wish you continued success, @Filippa.
