Quarterly Payroll Schedule

Does anyone know of a way to create a quarterly payroll schedule for a business owner in QBO? Is it only possible if they are doing the self-service payroll? Does anyone know of a way to work around this? I know that you can do quarterly and even annual schedules in QB Desktop. Have they not added this to QBO yet?

Currently, the quarterly payroll schedule isn't available in QuickBooks Online.

 

I can see how it would be beneficial to your company to create a quarterly payroll schedule. I want to let you know that we're taking note of your feedback and suggestions to improve the experience we're providing.

 

Please also know that I'm going to send feedback on my end in regards to your concern about the quarterly payroll schedule. This way, our developers will check and work with this for possible inclusion in future updates.

On behalf of my colleague, I'll join this thread to help run a payroll for one quarter.

 

You got it right. The workaround you suggested can be done in QuickBooks Online. Just create a monthly pay schedule and run payroll for the whole quarter.

 

Here's how to create a pay schedule:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Payroll Settings.
  3. Select Pay Schedules.
  4. Click the Create button.
  5. Choose Every Month under Pay Period and add the needed details.
  6. Click OK.

Would it be possible to just run all the payrolls for the quarter at one time per quarter? Would this work as a workaround?

There are only four options when setting up a pay schedule that includes every week, every other week, twice a month and every month. The monthly schedule is the closest one we can choose for your payroll.
