QuickBooks is only allowing for Federal Tax Forms 941 or 944. I file for an agricultural business using Form 943. Can this be changed in QB?

Good day, chuck-chapmanhil!

Filing form 943 is achievable through Intuit TurboTax. This is another Intuit software where you can file your taxes smoothly. You can also download the form directly from the IRS website and then run the Tax Liability report in QuickBooks Online.

To get the report, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Taxes and then select Payroll Tax.
  2. Click View your Tax Liability Report.
  3. Change the Date Range.
  4. Once done, click on Run Report.

You might also want to visit the IRS website for more details about the instructions of your 943 tax form: Instructions for Form 943.

Additionally, you can also check these articles to learn what are the supported forms in QuickBooks Online:

Hi chuck-chapmanhil,

Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about filing the 943 form in QuickBooks Online you had yesterday. Was it successful? Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I’d be happy to help you at anytime.

Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!

I have the same issue.  I received a letter recently from the IRS claiming that I had not paid employment taxes in 2020, but I have made all of the payments.  In visiting with the IRS this morning, I learned that the E-payments I have been making to the IRS on a monthly basis using Quickbooks have been reported as Form 941 payments.  I need to know how to make the change in QB to report the payments as Form 943 instead.  So far, I have not figured out how to make that change.  Can you help me?  Thanks

Welcome to the thread, @mwo.

We need to make payroll corrections to convert those 941 payments to 943 in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. With this said, I recommend working with our Payroll Support Team. They have more tools to securely pull up your account and help you further with the adjustments.

To connect with one of Payroll Support within your QuickBooks Online account, follow the below steps:

  1. From the Help menu, click on Contact Us.
  2. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk
  3. Select Start a chat or Get a callback.

For more details about reaching out to our Payroll Support, see this link: Contact Payroll Support. It also contains another way on how to reach them.

You might also want to visit the IRS website for more details about the instructions of your 943 tax form: Instructions for Form 943.

To know more about the supported forms in QBO, see this article: Pay and file payroll taxes and forms in Online Payroll.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns, I’ll be right here, ready to answer them for you. Have a great week ahead.
