QuickBooks Pro 2019 Desktop payroll

Although we renewed our payroll subscription this year, the credit card was denied (and we were not made aware of the problem) and our subscription lapsed.  Starting in December, the pay periods were incorrect so I changed them to the correct pay periods and ran payroll.  The payroll subscription has been renewed, but now, every time I run payroll, the pay periods are a payroll period behind and I have to change them to run payroll.

Is there a way to correct this?

Welcome to the Community and thanks a lot for the details, kp101.

I'm glad you've successfully renewed the payroll subscription. Let me help change the pay period.

To edit it, please follow the steps I've laid out below:

  1. Go to the Employees menu at the top, then choose Payroll Center.
  2. Under the Create Paychecks table, select the Payroll tab.
  3. Choose the pay period you want to update.
  4. Click the drop-down arrow beside Payroll Schedules and choose Edit Schedule.
  5. Update the necessary fields and click OK.

To provide a visual point of reference, I’ve included screenshots.

Here's an article that provides further insights: Set up and manage payroll schedules.

That should help you correct the pay period.

Let me know the results after trying the steps above. I'm here to provide additional assistance if you need anything else. Have a good day.
