Connecticut Payroll Taxes

I had to sign up for CT's new myconneCT. (Replaces the old TSC for SOME payroll tax types, such as withholding.) Do I have to enter new information in QBDT? What information? Where?

(And, yes, I know I waited until the last minute, but I just recently finished preparing tax returns, so October is always a rush.)

Thank you for any help or leads.

It's never too late to update the necessary details in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @TaxLadyCT. This is to make sure you'll be filing the right amount of payroll taxes to the state (CT).

There isn't a need to enter new withholding information in QBDT using myconneCT for the state of Connecticut. This is because CT is only updating their portal where you can file tax returns, make payments, and view your filing history not their payroll requirements. However, you can still visit the Payroll Item List and Payroll Center pages to make any necessary changes (i.e. liability schedule and payroll items).

In the meantime, I'm adding this article to further guide you in managing your QBDT payroll account: Process payroll. It includes topics about payroll reports, liabilities, and benefits to name a few.

Additionally, I'd like to make sure you've got all the information you need to comply with your state's payroll tax regulation. With this, I'd recommend checking out this article: Connecticut Payroll Tax Compliance. It includes topics about tax forms, withholdings, unemployment, e-file and pay information, general state and agency, and employer registration.

Please don't hesitate to comment below if you have other concerns or follow-up inquiries about state payroll taxes in QBDT. I'm just around to help. Take care always.

Thank you very much, Rea_M.

That's what I was hoping, but CT made it seem like ALL filing/paying for certain taxes had to be done via myconneCT. Actually, I filed and paid my CT taxes as usual via QBDT yesterday in hopes that was true. But I didn't get the usual quick acceptances, so I came on here to ask. The CT acceptances finally arrived via email.

I'll read the articles you suggested for me to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Thank you, again. Stay well.
