How do I see my 1099 on QuickBooks Self-Employed? The link I was sent does not show it, and none of the help articles direct me to the right place.

Thanks for reaching out to us, paneque1.

It's possible that your employer or client hasn't submitted your 1099-MISC to the IRS yet. Once they file it, you'll get an email when it's ready. Then, go to the Clients menu and select the Forms tab to view your 1099-MISC.

Here are some of the articles for more info:

Leave a comment below if you have more questions. I'll be here!

I got the email from my employer, and I clicked the link. It brought me to a blank page.  I don't even see this so called Clients menu.

It's good to have you back here, paneque1. Let's work together and get this sorted out.

We can log in to your QBSE account since the link sent doesn't work, and you can see the Clients menu on your QBSE account. Otherwise, check if your employer sent you an invite. If not, you can contact them to send you an invitation. That way, you can view your 1099 form.

I recommend checking the above articles shared by my colleague to learn more information about them:

Please let me know if I can be of any additional help.

I'm having the same issue. This only seems to be available in Quickbooks online, not QBSE. I got a  link from a  client to view my 1099 and cant'a seem to open it in QBSE. There is no client menu. I can sort by customer invoices but that doesn't seem to help. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi, julie123456789.

I've checked with my resources and verify with our engineering team. There are no ongoing reports where the client unable to view 1099 in QuickBooks Self-Employed. It could be that the link sent to you is already expired. You'll need to take note that the link sent to you expires after 24 hours.

In this case, try using this URL when signing in to your account instead: https://selfemployed.intuit.com/login#/contractor/clients. From there, you can view your Client menu on the left pane.

On the other hand, you can also open your QuickBooks account using the incognito mode or private browsing. These are built-in features in the browser that allows you to access websites without storing any data. Google Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N, Mozilla: Ctrl+Shift+P and Safari: Command + Shift + N.

If you're able to view the link, you'll need to clear your browser's cache to optimize its performance.

You can read this guide about 1099s in QuickBooks Self-Employed. This will give more details on how to access your W-9 info and 1099 form.

Let me know if there's anything else that you need help with. Take care!

Thank you, AileneA. I don't have the Client option on my left pane. It's different from your picture here as it goes straight from Home to Transactions. I tried to attach a screen shot here but inserting an image is not intuitive for me in this program ( it's prompting me to enter, source, description, and dimensions rather than a picture). Everything else in may left pane  is the same as yours. I tried going into Invoices but did not find a way to sort by customer in a meaningful way. Please advise. Thank you.

Thanks for getting back to this thread, @julie123456789.

The link that you've received from your email indicates that your clients already submitted your 1099-MISC to the IRS. Once you've successfully opened it, this should automatically route you to the QuickBooks Self-Employed page. This is where you can find the Clients menu that will let you print or view the form.

If you've already performed the troubleshooting steps that were recommended above, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Phone Support Specialist. This way, they can check your QuickBooks Self-Employed and run some tests to determine where might this issue is coming from.

  1. Type in "Talk to a human", then press Enter.
  2. Enter the same keyword (Talk to a human) when prompted.
  3. Click I still need a human.
  4. Select between Message an agent and Get a callback.

Please also check out our support hours to make sure they'll able to handle your concerns on time.

Yes, I will have to do that. The link is expired, I've done the troubleshooting you recommend, and I am still not seeing a Client pane on the left side.

Thanks for coming back and bringing this one to our attention, julie123456789.

After your client submits the 1099-MISC to the IRS, you'll get an email when it's ready for download. Let's figure out if the browser issue is the link is expired on your email. We can try logging in using an incognito window. Then, access the link sent by your employer. This way, we'll know if it's your regular browser, which causes this unexpected behavior. Follow the shortcut keys, depending on what browser you're using.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P

Then, try accessing the Client pane on your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). If it works fine, go back to your main browser and clear the cache. It helps to troubleshoot and increases the performance of your browser. Aside from that, you can open the link in a different browser. If the same thing happens, try contacting your client to re-send the link in the email to sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed. For more details about how to view the 1099 forms, see the Fill out a W-9 and view your 1099-MISC in QuickBooks Self-Employed article.

If the problem persists, please contact our Customer Support Team. Just follow the steps and details provided by my colleague. Feel free to visit our Tax forms page for more insights about adding and managing your tax forms.

I'd like to know how you get on after contacting our support agent, as I want to ensure this is resolved for you. Just reply to this post and I'll get back to you. Take care always.

Ok, I am the same as countless others on this page.  THERE IS NO CLIENTS TAB.   You keep saying there is a clients tab, and multiple of us who are all using Self Employed, do not have the clients tab.  There is no clients tab.  Anyways not trying to be annoying and am appreciative of help, just seems the help is not listening.  I have the same issue, have gotten emails stating my 1099 is ready, click on it, sign in.  takes me to blank page.  Tried looking through everything to no avail,.. and I again I repeat there is no client tab anywhere anyhow.  Please advise, Thanks mucho.

How do I see my 1099 on QuickBooks Self-Employed? The link I was sent does not show it, and none of the help articles direct me to the right place.

I'd like to route you to the best support group available to get this addressed right away, @PatentFinders.

I recognize the importance and urgency of getting this issue resolved. I also understand the convenience of accessing your 1099 in QuickBooks.

You can find your 1099 from the Forms tab in your Clients menu. That'll be made available after your employer or client submits your 1099-MISC to the IRS. Since it is missing, I've checked our resources and found out that there is no investigation about it.

As much as I’d like to assist you further, I can’t do so because Community is a public forum. Considering that your concern might require an exchange of account information, I suggest you to contact our support team. They have tools available to investigate what's causing this behavior and work with our engineers to get the error fix.

Here’s how:

  1. Click the Help icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. In the Help window, click the Contact Us button located at the bottom.
  3. Enter your question and click Let's talk.
  4. Choose either Start a chat or Call us.

For more information about managing 1099s in QBSE, check out this article. If you have other questions about this, you can click here.

You can also refer to this article for further guidance in filing your taxes through QBSE.

Keep me posted if you still have questions or concerns with 1099s. Just reply to this post and I'll get back to you. This way, we can take a closer look to resolve it together.

How do I see my 1099 on QuickBooks Self-Employed? The link I was sent does not show it, and none of the help articles direct me to the right place.

Hi,

I figured it out.  I have a ghost account somehow that uses my email address as the userID.  My main account has a different userID but uses the same email.  My 1099 was being routed to the account I do not normally ever use.  So the ghost account has the clients tab and my 1099 info.  My main account does not have the clients tab probably since the 1099 went to the other account.  I asked my client to change the userId in his system or maybe send me a new W9.  Hopefully that makes it so the info shows up in the correct account.

Intuit should fix this cache/private window issue. I was not able to view any of the current year 1099s until I opened a private window and re-logged in. That's super confusing for the recipients and results in more emails their clients to chase down their 1099. People don't think of opening a private window, they think the worst - that they cannot access their tax form or it wasn't filed for them.

Yeah I don't see it either.

My former employer sent me a link and when I pressed it it sent me up to a sign up page to restore my membership. I just want to see my 1099 so I can do my taxes. This shouldn't be that difficult.

Hi, villafranca.

As much as I want to check your account to help you with your 1099 issue, I'm unable to do it here as this is a public forum.

I suggest contacting our Customer Care Support. One of our agents can pull up your account and do a screen-sharing session. This way, they can provide options for seeing/getting a copy of your 1099. Please follow the steps provided by my colleague above in reaching out to our support.

Please also consider reviewing our business hours to ensure we promptly address your concern.

Go to the email you received and click on view your 1099 and when that page opens copy the link in the address bar. Open a incognito tab in your browser and paste in the address bar. If you already have an account do not change the email enter your phone number and use your QB password to sign in. Hope this helps everyone
