Efiling

Trying to e-file through QB Desktop 2017. Have all of the payroll updates. When I try and submit the form after having entered all of my reporting agent information I get an error that reads:

Problem: QuickBooks encountered a network problem while processing your payment or form: The underlying connection was closed: an unexpected error occurred on a send.

Solution: Try submitting again.

I have tried several times to mess with data and re-submit and I still get the same error. I should mention it is doing this for every single one of my clients.

Please, any advice on how to get passed this quickly would be great.

Efiling

Hello there, @ShelbyAbercrombie.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I'm here to help make sure that you can submit your e-file in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

The most likely reason why you're getting this error is that the version of the .NET framework used by the software does not support TLS version 1.2. TLS is an internet security protocol that is used by QBDT to access Intuit services, such as electronic payments.

To isolate this, let's run the TLS 1.2 Readiness tool to update your system to meet all Windows Operating System, Internet Explorer and .Net requirements. Here's how:

1. Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
2. Close the software completely.
3. Run the TLS 1.2 Readiness tool.

Once done, reopen your QuickBooks company file and try to submit your e-file again. For your reference, you can visit this article for further guidance: Operating System, Internet Explorer, and .Net framework requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2016 and....

That should get you fixed right up! Please let me know how it goes by leaving a comment below. I'm only a click away if you have any follow-up questions. Take care and have a good one.
