Employee Vacation Time

Let me share some information with you on how vacation time tracking works in QuickBooks Desktop.

With QuickBooks Desktop, you have the ability to set up your vacation time by hours worked accrual rate. This means that employees only earn time off by the number of hours they actually work.

First, let's set up your company's vacation time tracking preferences . Here's how:

1. Go to Edit.
2. Choose Preferences.
3. Select Payroll and Employees.
4. Under Company Preferences, choose Sick and Vacation button.
5. You can now choose how to track your Vacation time:
   • Maximum hours at a time.
   • Maximum hours for the year.
6. Click Ok.

I was curious as to the instructions you posted below. Will those only apply to the sick time part or will it apply to both sick and vacation? My company doesn't do sick time we only do vacation and I need to make it where employees only accrue so many hours for the year. And each employee will be different.
