Hi Isabel!

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! I'll guide you to enter the holiday pay of your employee.

First, we'll add the Holiday Pay earnings item to the employee's profile:

  1. Go to Workers and select Employees.
  2. Click the name of the employee and click the Pencil icon beside Pay.
  3. Go to section 4 and click on + Add additional pay types (like overtime, sick, and vacation pay). Or, click the Pencil icon next to an existing other earnings item.

  4. In the You can also pay [employee's name]: section, select Holiday Pay.
  5. Click Done, and click Done on the next page.

Second, pay the employee and enter the Holiday Pay Hours, as shown below.Holiday Pay Hours field.PNG

By the way, we have blogs relevant to our situation today. You can check them on the QuickBooks Blogs page.

Please let me know if you have additional questions about entering a holiday pay.

Is there a way to add a new pay type in hours. For example we could use the Holiday Pay box that's setup since it's in hours and not dollars however we'd like to have a category called Floating Holiday that uses hours not dollars?

Thanks!!

Liza
