How do you revert employer bank information for direct deposit when last bank information could not be verified?

Thanks for visiting the Community, dessell.

Reverting the employer bank information for direct deposit is a breeze. I can help accomplish this task in QuickBooks Desktop.

We'll have to add the new account and then update the information listed on the Account's Maintenance page. To set up the new bank, perform these steps.

  1. Go to the Lists menu at the top bar to choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Click the Accounts drop-down to select New.
  3. When the account page opens, mark the radio button for Bank and hit Continue.
  4. Fill in the fields for the bank account information.
  5. Press Save & Close to keep the changes.

Now that the account is already added, let’s go to the Account Maintenance page to enter the new account. Here’s how:

  1. Tap the Employees menu and click the My Payroll Service option to choose Accounts/Billing Information.
  2. This will open the QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.
  3. From there, log in using your Intuit Account credentials.
  4. Go to the Payroll Info section and click Edit under Direct Deposit Bank Account.
  5. Enter your payroll PIN to choose Continue.
  6. Enter the new bank account details and then select Update.
  7. Wait for the confirmation and hit the Close button.

Make sure to update the account where the direct deposit paychecks and fees will post to. For detailed instructions about changing the Preferences, follow the steps in the Change your direct deposit bank account for QuickBooks Desktop Payroll guide.

Proceed directly to Step 2 (Now, update the account that direct deposit paychecks and fees will post to if necessary section). In the article, you’ll see the steps on how to verify the new direct deposit account.

Stay in touch if you have any other concerns or questions. I’ll be glad to answer them for you. Have a great rest of the day.
