I am not able to view forms 941 and NYS-45 for the first quarter 2020 nor to file them via quickbooks. Are these forms not published right now?

Hi there, claudia-waurisch.

I'll provide steps to view forms 941 and NYS-45 for the first quarter of 2020 and file them.

The forms are still available/published in QuickBooks Online. Since you're unable to see these options, I suggest going to the View and Print Archived Forms page. This way, you're able to view your 941 forms and NYS-4 and to verify if these forms are filed electronically.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Taxes from the left menu.
  2. Select Payroll Tax.
  3. Go to the Forms column.
  4. Under Quarterly Forms, click View and Print Archived Forms.
  5. From the list of archived forms, find the 941 and NYS-45.
  6. Click the 941 and NYS-54 links in the far right.
  7. Choose View.

If you're still unable to see the 941 forms and NYS-45 in the list of Archived Forms,  I suggest logging into your QBO account using a private browser. This way, you're able to verify if too much data saved in your browser is causing why you're unable to see the forms.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.

  • For Internet Explorer of Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser. This way, it can resolve many different issues and is a good place to start whenever you see unexpected behavior in the product.

If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as alternatives.

If the issue continues to occur, it could be you're using the Full or Core Payroll Service. If so, Intuit prepares and files federal and state payroll tax forms for you. This could be the reason you're unable to see the forms 941 and NYS-45.

To access the tax forms that were filed for you, please check this article to see the steps: View and print payroll tax forms.

I've also added these articles for additional reference about the QBO tax forms:
