Hello, @jackie52.

I'm here to help you in filing the additional contractor in QuickBooks Online.

You'll need to add first the contractor's name on the Payroll page. Then after that, you can now normally E-file the 1099 form. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Payroll tab, then choose Contractors
  2. Hit Add a contractor
  3. Enter the complete name and address. You can either invite the client to enter the data or manually enter it into the system.
  4. Click Prepare 1099s, then tap Continue your 1099s
  5. Map the exact account or payments, then hit Next
  6. Choose the name in the Add from Vendor List and press Save.

       7. Pick the new contractor in the list and tap Finish preparing 1099s.

       8. Select E-file for me

For more information, check out this article: Create and file 1099s using QuickBooks Online

You can always check the form status by signing in to the 1099 E-File service website using your Intuit credentials. Then, click View past forms to see the returns.

I've added some pages about printing old vendor forms, adding clients, and the state's payroll tax regulations.

Let me know if you need more help. I'm just one post away. Keep safe!

Thank you!! I was getting confused because all of the contractors were showing up as well.  I appreciate your response. I'm all set.
