If I want to change AL Employer Account Number in Sett. I get message: You can't change the EAN because you have enrolled in AL EFT... Please contact customer service

The first time it was too much data to fill, and I put wrong AL Employer Account Number by mistake. Now it's time for reports, and I can't put the correct AL Employer Account Number in Payroll Settings, I get the red message: "You cannot change the Employer Account Number for this company because you have enrolled in AL EFT. If you have received a new Employer Account Number, please contact customer service for assistance". I chated with the customer servise 2 days ago, and didn't get help online, they asked to wait. How long I should wait? Should I make the report by myself? There is a deadline. Thank you

I appreciate you for sharing detailed information here in the Community. I can provide some information about changing the state account number in QuickBooks Online.

 

You usually get this error if you have active state electronic services. The only way to update the information is by disabling the service first and reactivating it again.

 

The reactivation of the State E-services requires Chat or Phone Support to escalate the form to Ops Team. The typical SLA for reactivation is 1-2 business days.

 

Since you already contacted support two days ago, I recommend checking your payroll settings. It should show the updated account number for you to e-file and e-pay taxes.

 

If it's more than two days, you'll need to contact our Payroll Support Team again. They'll need to check your account and review the status of the request.

 

Since you've previously contacted our Chart Support Team, you can provide the case number to the next representative. They'll be able to check your previous conversation and assist you further with the issue.

 

Our Customer Support Team for QuickBooks Online Payroll - Core, Premium is available from 6 AM - 6 PM PT (Monday - Friday). For QuickBooks Full Service Payroll, QuickBooks Online Payroll Elite/Premium, any time, any day.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Help tab in the upper-right corner.
  2. Go to the Assistant tab.
  3. Click Get help from a human.
  4. Choose Chat with us or Have us call you

 

If you need to submit the report to catch the deadline, I suggest making it manually. This way, you'll be able to do it on time and avoid any penalties.

 

I've also attached an article you can use to enter any tax payments you paid outside the payroll system: Recording prior tax payments.
