Issues setting up direct deposit

I am trying to set up direct deposit. I use QB Desktop Pro. I went to Employees-My Payroll Service-Activate Direct Deposit. I can not get any further than this (see attached screen shot). I would greatly appreciate any advice you might have. I need to process a payroll on the 19th.

When you set up Direct Deposit, we make 2 small withdrawals of less than $1.00. These amounts are used to verify that you are the authorized user, and the account is ready for authorized payroll transactions and fees. It will take 2 banking days to reflect the amount in your bank statement. 


If it's already more than 2 banking days, please check your bank statement to see the test debits. Then, enter the amount in the Direct Deposit confirmation page (like the one on your attachment).

Once done, your Direct Deposit service is now activated. Here are some articles to help you run Direct Deposit and manual payroll.

Thank you so much for the reply. I have checked my bank statement and there are no small deposits. Is there a way to re-request the test deposits?

Thanks for getting back to us, tcba2016.

You've got me here today to help you with setting up direct deposit via QuickBooks Desktop.


You may want to make sure that the bank information you've entered is correct. Once done, you can reach out to your financial institution and check if there are two small test debits.


After that, you can follow the steps below to enter these amounts:


  1. Go to Employees > My Payroll Service > Account/Billing Information.
  2. Sign in using your Intuit Account login. For additional information about IAM Log in, see QuickBooks Payroll Account Maintenance Sign In Page FAQ.
  3. Click the Verify link next to your Direct Deposit bank account information.
  4. Enter the 2 test debit amounts to verify your new bank account. (see screenshot below).



  5. Enter and confirm your payroll PIN.

  6. Click Submit.

  1. Within your QuickBooks Desktop, click Help at the top menu bar.
  2. Enter a brief description of your concern then click Contact us.
