Hi there, @jim114.

There are a variety of holds that Intuit uses which need your action so you can use payroll again. QuickBooks will send an email to the Principal Officer or Primary Principal listed on the account why service is on hold.

One of the reasons why an account is on hold is due to bank returns. It happens when we are trying to debit your account, but your financial institution rejects. You can check this resource to know more on how to handle about this: Resolve a non-sufficient funds (NSF) hold on your payroll service.

To further investigate the reason for the hold, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. They can pull up your account in a secure environment and fix any issues related to your billing.

Moreover, since your account is on hold, you can use our test drive to contact our Customer Support Team. Here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Go to this link https://qbo.intuit.com/redir/testdrive.
  2. Put a check mark on the I'm not a robot box, then Continue
  3. Pick the Help icon on the top right.
  4. Click Contact Us button at the bottom.
  5. Enter a short description about your concern.
  6. Hit on Let's talk.
  7. Choose the method on how you'd be connected to support.
