Join nowI received the normal notification to file taxes for first quarter and after completion I received an email that said:
We were notified by the state of NJ that the filing of NJ-927 Worksheet for the period 01/01/2020-03/31/2020 for Physicians Shock Wave Therapy Group, LLC was rejected.
Reason for rejection: Problem: You can no longer electronically file prior year returns for this form., Solution: Please visit the agency website to report your prior year filing., Code: 54
I have used Paycycle and then QB Online Payroll for so long I have no idea how to manually file, or understand why this was rejected. I was also wondering if this may be a technical error or something that could be fixed. My payments worked, it was just in the filing of the forms.
Not sure what I should do. Any help would be appreciated?
Good day, Dashnj.
To get more details on why the form was rejected, I'd recommend reaching out with your state agency. You can get the contact information by clicking on this article: New Jersey Payroll Tax Compliance. Go to the Withholdings section, then Phone Numbers.
For manually filing the worksheet, you can visit the state website here: https://www.nj.gov/treasury/taxation/njit31.shtml. Go to the Payment Classifications section and select the button to file NJ-927 base on your schedule.
You can always get back to me if there's anything else you need. I'm just a few clicks away to help you some more. Stay safe.
Thank you yes, I received an email that explained this, but the reason for rejection makes no sense. It rejected because I can't file a return for last year, but I was filing Q1 of 2020 and not for last year.
It also shows as completed and archived in the system.
Thanks for getting back to us, Dashnj.
At this time, it would be best to reach out to our Phone Support team. An agent will take a look at your account and verify why the taxes got rejected.
I'll show you how:
