Non-USA Company Using QuickBooks Online

My country does not have a separate Quickbooks subscription.

The USA subscription is closest to us because we are next door (The Bahamas).

This is a problem as it wants a USA State and Zipcode and it wants you to subscribe to Online Payroll.

Question/Help

1. How do we get around the State and Zipcode problem

2. How do we use payroll feature in QuickBooks Online while manually calculate any taxes?

Non-USA Company Using QuickBooks Online

Hello, phoneixarising.

Thanks for visiting the QuickBooks Community. Let me address your concern about your QuickBooks Online subscription.

Intuit offers QuickBooks Online International for non-US based companies. Since you’re in the Bahamas, you won’t be able to use the US version of QuickBooks Online to work with your company file because of compatibility.

The likely reason that you’re having trouble with subscribing to both QBO and Payroll is that these are US based subscriptions. If you’ve already purchased QBO US, I’d suggest canceling the subscription and sign up for QuickBooks Online International for the Bahamas.

You may subscribe to the International version of your home country by visiting this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Getting-Started/International-versions/m-p/186273.

Once you cancel the QBO US subscription, the refund to your account will be sent within 7-10 business days.

Please let me know if you need anything else. I’ll be more than happy to help. Wishing you the best!

Thank you. We canceled just as you recommended and went to the International site but every time we try to complete the setup it had an error processing the payment and finalizing the company information.  There was even a message referencing the fact we canceled the subscription.

So we thought to give your database a day before trying again.

If there is any further assistance you can provide please advise.

Hi there, phoneixarising.

Thanks for getting back to me. I want to make sure you’re able to subscribe to QBO International.

While setting up your subscription with QuickBooks Online International, make sure that the billing address matches with the address on your credit card statement. The card number you provide will be set up on recurring billing so that the fees are taken out automatically.

You may also try using a different credit card and see if you’re able to process the subscription. If you encounter the same error, I’d suggest getting in touch with our Email Support Team for further assistance.

Here’s how you can reach them:
1.    Go to https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en/contact.
2.    Select a topic.
3.    Click the green Send Email button.
4.    Email your question.

Stay in touch if you have any other concerns, I'm always here to help. Enjoy your day!

Non-USA Company Using QuickBooks Online

Even after successfully creating a non-US company and account (and paying for it), it is impossible to upload Quickbooks Desktop to Online because your system automatically creates a new US-based company.

So, how in the world and a Non-US customer upload a Non-US company to QBO?

Thanks for joining this thread, @Izwebusr.

You can manually upload or enter the transactions to QuickBooks Online (QBO) as a workaround.

Here’s how:

  1. Open your account.
  2. Go to Banking in your left pane.
  3. Click Upload transactions.
  4. Select Browse and choose a file to upload.

You can refer to this article for additional information about the steps: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

I also added a link to help you match and categorize bank transactions in QBO moving forward.

You’ve got me here if you need more help.

You may try migrating your data by using a 3rd party tool (i.e exporter for QB Desktop, importer for QB Online)

https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbd

Once you are ready to proceed, open a QBO Global version for South America country

Hope it helps.

Non-USA Company Using QuickBooks Online

Hello,

We recently purchased the US version as we were not aware there were separate versions and we find we cannot recover password for other users because we cannot verify numbers outside the US. The problem is that we made this purchase on 14th November, 2020 and only finding this out now. How can we transition to the international version and not lose the money we paid for the US version. Because this can be really challenging for our company if we cannot have control over password recovery for our users.

How can we transition to the international version and get a refund for the mistaken US purchase

Hi there, @eliFAS.

I can help with moving your QuickBooks from the US to the International version.

To start the process, you need to cancel the US version of QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. Open a web browser on your computer.
  2. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as an admin user.
  3. Go to the Gear icon, then select Account and settings.
  4. Go to the Billing & Subscription tab.
  5. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel subscription or Cancel online. If you're canceling a trial, select Cancel trial.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps.

Once done, I recommend following these steps to subscribe to the version needed:

  1. Open this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/.
  2. Choose the region of QuickBooks.
  3. Select your plan, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.

With regards to the refund, I recommend reaching out to our Support Team. This way, a representative can review your subscription and fees and check if it's eligible for a refund.

If you have the new Help menu interface, here's how to connect with our live support:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account, then go to the (?) Help icon.
  2. Choose the Talk to a human option (then type it again when prompted).
  3. When asked by the bot, enter a short description of your concern.
  4. Select I still need a human.
  5. Proceed with Contact us.
  6. Click Let’s talk, then choose either Get a call or Start messaging.

To get started with the international version of QuickBooks, you can check out the topics from our help articles.

If you need additional help with managing your QuickBooks subscriptions, please let me know by adding a comment below. Have a good one!

Welcome to the Community space, 31123.

I understand your desire to tailor your QuickBooks Online subscription to ensure information and taxes are computed based on your region. There isn't a direct way to switch your subscription from the United States (US) to Anguilla.

As a workaround, you can open a new subscription and select a correct region. Please follow these steps below:

  1. Go to this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/.
  2. Select Anguilla as your region.
  3. Choose the type of subscription you'll be using, then click whether to Buy now or Free 30-day trial.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

You can cancel your account registered in the US once you've finished creating a new one. Before doing so, you can export all of your lists and then import them into your newly created QuickBooks Online account.

You can also bring all your bank transactions by manually uploading them to your new QBO account. Refer to this article for a complete procedure: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Once your transactions are in QuickBooks, you can begin matching and categorizing them to assign them to the appropriate accounts.

Don't hesitate to add details below if you have further questions about managing your subscription. We're always here to help you.

I am currently using the QuickBooks online version USA, I am using one of my cousin’s personal addresses who resides in Minnesota.

So, How Do I change my Company address? If it's compulsory to cancel my current subscription How do I migrate to the Internationa edition?

  2. Go to Settings menu, then Account and settings.
  3. Go to Billing & subscription, then select Cancel subscription or Cancel online
  4. If you're canceling a trial, select Cancel trial.
  5. Then, follow the onscreen steps to complete the cancelation.

OK I recently was setting up a new Quickbook account in Bermuda. Only problem I have is the payroll function. Don't even know why you have it in the Global version when we cant use it. My main problem is what do I do about my payroll expense? Can I not at least list my employees and record their net earnings?

Hi there, @Bermudauser2024. Allow me to share some insights about the QuickBooks Payroll in the global version.

As of now, the QuickBooks Online International version doesn't have a payroll functionality. However, you can use the journal entry function to manually record your payroll information.

You'll learn how to do it in this article: Recording payroll transactions manually. The scenario and detailed steps will help you understand the process. You can also check with an accountant if you have a complex payroll setup.

Furthermore, I've also attached an article you can use in the future to create manual tracking accounts for the journal entries in QuickBooks: Manually enter payroll paychecks in QuickBooks Online.
