Not finding a local school district for a new employee

Thanks for reaching out the Community, dwiegand.

May I know what state you're referring to? Any additional details will be greatly appreciated.

The school district tax of your employees is based on where they live and work. There are some cities that don't have this tax that's why you can't find it in the system. You can follow the steps below on how to set up a local tax to your employee:

  1. Select Workers from the sidebar menu.
  2. Click Employees.
  3. Choose the employee's name.
  4. Select Edit (Pencil) icon under Employee details,
  5. Click Edit (Pencil) icon on the question about employee's withholding.
  6. Go to Local Taxes and select the local tax jurisdiction.
  7. Hit Done.

I've attached an article that will give you more information about the state payroll tax compliance.

If you have any other questions or concerns, just let me know and I'll be glad to help.
