Payroll Not Updating

Hello,

I keep getting notifications that I need to update payroll.  I do this and it gives me the "success"  notice and then immediately asks me to update again when I try to get in to payroll (see attachments).  Has anyone else had issues with this? If so, how did you solve it?

Re: Payroll Not Updating

I appreciate the steps you've done and for adding some screenshots, @jacquie214.

The Payroll Subscription Alert should not show downloading the latest payroll update. Since the notification continues to pop up, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support team so they can take a look at your account and help identify what's causing this unexpected behavior.

Here's how to reach them:

1. Open QuickBooks and click the Help menu at the top.
2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
3. Hit the Contact us icon on the pop-up window.

To know more about the Payroll alerts in QuickBooks, consider checking out this article: Update or renew your subscription.

Keep me posted on how the call goes or should you need anything else. I want to make sure everything is taken care of for you.

Re: Payroll Not Updating

Hello,

I have already spoken with the payroll support team and they weren't able to figure it out either. The only thing that resolved it last time was removing the entire company file and reinstalling it but I would love to find a solution that doesn't involve doing that every month!

Re: Payroll Not Updating

Hello there, @jacquie214.

I knew a few steps to resolve the error you're getting. I'm happy to help share them with you and ensure you'll not be getting this error again.

First, you can try sending payroll data to fix the error, before performing the steps, please ensure to download and install the QuickBooks Desktop latest release.

To send payroll data depending on your payroll service:

  1. Click on Employees at the top menu bar.
  2. Select My Payroll Service, and then Send Usage Data or click on Send Usage Data directly.

If it works successfully, try to update your payroll again. If the send is not successful, I'd suggest getting back to our Payroll Support Team to check and investigate this further.

However, if you still get an error or the PS038 message, you may need to perform the next steps provided in this article: Resolve payroll error PS038.

You can also check this article for your reference in the future: PSXXX Errors.

Let me know directly if you have any other payroll concerns, I'll always be here to help you. Have a good day ahead!
