Refundable vs. Nonrefundable portion of credit for qualified sick and family leave wages on Form 941?

Can anyone help clarify why the wages I paid to my employee for qualified sick & family leave (under FFCRA, due to her kids school being closed and no child care for last quarter 2020) are being listed as a nonrefundable credit on the 941? Yet, on page 2 of 941 the amount shows up as a refund? I would assume that it should be classified as a Refundable Credit, no? Any input or help anyone could offer would be SOOO appreciated. I did work with QB support to set up these payroll items in October, so not sure what is going on. Thanks All!

Hi there, @ MLRobertson.

I appreciate you sharing your concern. Since you're still not able to get the result that you wanted. I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Online Support Team again. They can further check on the wages that you paid for your employee. Also, they can provide you an additional option on how to get things done.

To reach them:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help at the top right.
  3. Select Contact Us to connect with a live agent.
  4. Enter the concern.
  5. Click on the Green Phone button to get the phone number.

This should get on the right track.

Don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help.
