Re: [removed] do not know how to answer questions about payroll. Why do they work in payroll?

Which type of question were you asking:

1: Software based such as: How do I edit the name on a prior check

or

2: Legal and technical such as:  If I need to edit a paycheck from a prior quarter will I need to amend my quarterly reporting?

If the answer is 1, please share your challenge and lets see if we can help you solve it.

If the answer is 2:

Full Service Payroll Option: not acceptable and ask for a manager. Also always get everything in writing ( i.e. email)

Then post your question here and we can see if we can help answer.

Essential Payroll Option: Also known as DIY Payroll, the simple answer is they are not paid to, that is why they offer full service payroll.

Could you imagine what it would cost Intuit to retain a full staff of payroll specialists that could answer every question which always has some legal ramification?

BUT

Please post your challenge here and we can try to help you find a solution.

The question appeared to  be

Unclear what errant advice he received over the phone but regarding technical issues for any version if support is not paid to support those questions then Intuit better just shut down completely. All versions include a certain period and level of free support. Free support should be no less correct than paid support. When a phone support rep has to ask if you paid for support before they answer or shunt you to another rep that is just plain bad business

Stepping in as a moderator to let everyone on this thread know that I have edited the title of this thread (and title replies) to remove the names of the agents.  I have also removed links to posts that were not by the agents named originally.

I would ask that everyone remember that while we encourage you to express your point of view and voice your concerns, we also do not tolerate abusing or insulting others - including agents in the phone support experience.

I am not going to lock this thread, and I would encourage you to take @ParkwayInc or any of our other community members up on their offer of assistance.

You can read our rules of the road here, and if you have any questions you can always reach out to a moderator or host.
