Time cards not matching paycheck

I have entered time cards and when I go to create paychecks they do not match. The time cards match payroll report but the check shows different hours.  I can see the time card for a specific date has 7 hours, when I go to make the check it should show 7 hours. It shows 23. I have been using QB for years, I've never seen this before. This is a newly set up account. Can anyone help? Please?

Let's start resolving this unexpected behavior by making sure your QuickBooks software and tax table is updated to the latest version. By doing so, we can ensure that you have the latest product features and fixes.


Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Click the Options tab and click Mark All.
  4. Under the Update Now tab, check the Reset Update.
  5. Once ready, click Get Updates

Once completed, restart your device to ensure that all components are updated. When you open QuickBooks again, let's downloaded your latest payroll tax tables. These updates provide the most current and accurate rates and calculations for supported state and federal tax tables, payroll tax forms, and e-file and payment options.

  1. Go to the Employees menu
  2. Choose Get Payroll Updates.
  3. Select the Download Entire Update checkbox.
  4. Click Download Latest Update. A window appears when the download is complete.

Now, you can try running payroll based on your employee's timesheet hours again. 


If the issue persists, you'd want to run the verify and rebuild data tool. It self-detect and automatically resolves possible data damage to your company file.
