Hey, A number of Payroll uses are reporting this issue. Quickbooks will look into it.
Such error occurs only when there is something going on at Quickbooks end. So it'll get fixed automatically soon.
Still, if you'll face the issue for a long time then contact the Support team.

Thanks for taking the time posting here in the Community. I'm here to help share some information about being unable to process payroll in QuickBooks Desktop.

 

Are you trying to process a Direct Deposit payroll? If so, as mentioned by Alice Donna above, being unable to process payroll is currently reported as an ongoing issue. Our engineers are presently working to get this fix in a timely manner.

 

For now, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Customer Care Team. This way you'll be added to the list of the affected users and be able to receive an email notification about the status of the issue as soon as they become available.

 

I'd also recommend running a payroll update every time you create a paycheck for your employees to ensure that you're tax table is updated. 

 

This should get you moving today.

 

Stay in touch if you have any other questions about payroll or anything concerning QuickBooks. I'd be pleased to help. Thank you for your patience while this was being worked on.

Thanks.  After a few hours, I was able to process my payroll without issue.
