I've got some steps to help you sort this out, naomiw.

Here's how you can change the payroll setup to exempt you and your employees from SUI taxes:

  1. Click Workers on the left panel.
  2. Select the Employees section.
  3. Select Employee in the Employees List.
  4. In the Employee Details, click the pencil icon beside Pay.
  5. In number five, click the pencil icon.
  6. You may scroll down to see the Tax exemptions section.
  7. Put a check inside the SUI Taxes box.
  8. Click Done.

When updating your employee’s tax exemption, you’ll receive a prompt. It will tell you that when doing the process, we will also update the employee’s state taxes for the current tax year.

Note that this will not affect past payroll transactions. You'll have to update the paychecks through payroll adjustments. Additionally, you'll need to amend the tax forms you've previously filed.

You can contact our Phone Support team to help you with state tax adjustments. To reach out to them, please follow these steps:

  1. Click Help (?).
  2. Click Contact us.
  3. Enter a short description of your concern (state tax adjustments).
  4. Then, click Let's Talk.
  5. Click Get a callback.
  6. Enter your contact information.
  7. Select Call me.

I'll be right here in case you need more help with payroll taxes.
