We purchased the payroll module, but I do not have the service key

Service keys are automatically sent to the email address that was used when buying the payroll service, phayes.

Please check your inbox for the email confirmation that contains the service key. If you didn't receive the email, use the automated Service Key Retrieval tool. You just need to log in using your Intuit Account login to get the information.

If you purchased the subscription from a retail store, you'll need to activate it in QuickBooks to get the service key. Here's how:

1. Go to the Employees menu, scroll-down to Payroll, and then select Install Payroll from Box. 
2. Enter the Payroll License and Product Information. The license number is displayed on a brightly colored sticker on the folder inside your box. The product number is included in the directions on the folder. 
3. Click Continue.
4. Complete the fields in the Payroll Company Legal Information section. All fields are required unless specified as optional.

Please note that you will only see this option if your company file does not have an existing service on it. If it does, please contact our Payroll Support Team so they can generate the service key for you. Here's how to reach out to them:

1. Go the Help menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
2. Click Contact Us.
3. Let them know that you want to get your service key. 
4. Click Continue, then select if you want to schedule a callback or reach out to one of our chat support agents.
