It's possible that we have employees who were setup under the state of Oregon, either on their work or home address. If the employee is residing in a state which is different from their business state address, there's a possibility that both state taxes will be withheld (home and work states). This is based on the reciprocity agreement of every state.
Let's look into each employee's profile to verify. Let me show you how:
- Go to the Workers menu and select Employees.
- From the list, individually select an employee and go to the Employee details tab.
- Under Profile and Employment section, check the Address and Work Location.
You can seek a payroll advice from your accountant just to make sure that the multistate rules are explained with their perspective.
