I own a small trucking fleet. We employ 1099 drivers that use our equipment. I pay them through direct deposit through QB, but I cant figure out how to send them a breakdown of WHAT they got paid. Like a check stub. Something to show pay for mile, detention time, layover, etc.
Also, none of the contractors appear in the QB Payroll App even though they are setup in my online account.
Hi there, HazardousHauler.
You can manually send the breakdown to your contractors' email. That way, they'll be able to check what they got paid. Regarding your contractors who don't appear in the QB App, it could be a QBO app issue.
We can try a few basic troubleshooting steps to fix this. Clearing the app's cache helps in fixing the errors in the system.
Here are the steps:
Once done, try logging in to your QBO app. If the issue persists, you'll want to uninstall and reinstall the app to refresh the system.
Let me know if there's anything else you need. I'm here to help you out.
So I have attached some screens hots of my QB Payroll app. No reset the app option.
How do I send the breakdown from QB Online?
Hello there, HazardousHauler.
Can you share with me a screenshot of your QuickBooks Online Payroll app interface?
I'll be keeping an eye on your response. Take care!
All I see are these 3 buttons.
I still need help with sending a pay breakdown to my contractors. What tabs do I go through to do it on QB Online?
Thanks for getting back to us, @HazardousHauler.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the ability to send a pay breakdown to contractors is currently unavailable. However, you can pull up the Transaction List by Vendor report to view your transactions for a specific vendor. Then, you can export it to an Excel file and manually send it to them as a workaround.
Here's how:
Once done, select the Export icon at the top right, then Export to Excel in the drop-down. Enter the necessary changes, then send it to your contractors.
After that, you can have the report memorized to save its current customization settings. For the detailed steps, kindly check out this article: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.

@FritzF thanks a bunch! I will tool around with that today!
Would you have any insight into why my QB Payroll app doesn't show any contractors despite them being active in QBO?
Hello @HazardousHauler,
Ideally, you can see a list of your contractors entered in the payroll system directly from the Payroll menu. Let me share a few reasons I can think of why they won't show up.
To start with, can you tell me more about the payroll app you've mentioned? Is it installed on your computer or your mobile device? The list of names in the payroll system is displayed differently in each device.
When in the Contractors page from the Payroll menu, toggle between the options beside the Search address. This can also affect the display of the names of your contractors.
In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can organize the list of your contractors: Set up and manage your direct deposit for contractors.
Lastly, you can also check out this helpful article for the steps in case you need to start creating, preparing, and filing the 1099 forms of your contractors: How to Prepare 1099-MISCs for Independent Contractors in QuickBooks Online (Plus)?
