Setting up Direct Deposit in QB.

Our bank is needing us to send a .csv file of payroll for direct deposits. How do I save a .csv file from QB's to my desktop?  Do I need to activate Direct Deposit in QB?  If not how do I put Direct Deposits information for employees.  And I will need to print check inform for employees.  Any help greatly appreciated.

It's a pleasure to have you here in the Community. I have some insights to provide you regarding the .csv file you're looking for and about setting up the direct deposit.

 

At this time, QuickBooks doesn't have a direct deposit file (.csv) creator. However, you could export the data to Excel, so you can convert it into a .csv file on your end. Let me walk you through the export process:

  1. From the Employees menu, select Employee Center.
  2. Go to the Transactions tab, then choose Paychecks in the left navigation menu.
  3. From the Excel drop-down menu, select Export Transactions.
  4. Choose Create new worksheet.
  5. Click Export.

Before you go, you may want also to consider using the direct deposit feature within QuickBooks. With just a few easy clicks, you can activate this feature to seamlessly send direct deposit paychecks to your employees. Let me walk you through the steps on how to do it:

  1. From Employees menu, select My Payroll Services, and choose Activate Direct Deposit.
  2. In the Verify Your Company Information section, click Edit.
  3. Take note of the following when completing and reviewing the activation form:
    - When asked for the zip code, enter the 5 digits only without the extension.
    - Make sure the Industry is selected.
    - In the Owner information section, enter the owner's or principal's First Name, Last Name, Phone number, Email, nine-digit Social Security Number, and Date Of Birth (mm/dd/).
    - Edit the Payroll Administrator Information and confirm the email address.
  4. Enter the bank account information that you use to pay your employees.
  5. Select the View Agreement link and read it.
  6. Check the I have read and agree to the terms of service agreement checkbox.
  7. In the Check Security Limits section, enter the appropriate answer to each question.
  8. Click Submit.
