Join nowMy current 941 does not show SSI taxes witheld. I have not made any changes and they have always been correct before. Is there something with COVID? Is QB automatically applying the deferral program? The difference shows up as an overpayment on line 15.
Yes, the issue is that the 941 form requires a QB program patch/update, but nowhere is that mentioned in the payroll updates nor are you notified when you run the form that the data sent from QB to the form is in an old style that is no longer sufficient for the form.
Both of these things, to tell customers to update QuickBooks, and to warn them if they don't, could have been done by Intuit - the mechanisms exist and they've done it before - but they didn't this time.
To make the form work, patch QuickBooks to the latest release.
After reading this yesterday (7/16) I downloaded the latest update and updated my version of Quickbooks Pro 2020. I had to reboot the pc afterward. I also then downloaded the payroll compliance update 22013. After doing all that, it still would not populate the 941 with the Q2 payroll on the soc. sec. tax line. I had to manually fill in the amount to get the 941 correct.
We are having the same problem. Update QB version, as well as payroll update which says that its good until 9/3/2020.
