Social Security withholding

Recorded tax payments in QuickBooks did not match quarterly 941 Report generated by QuickBooks enhanced payroll.

After doing a recent update, Social Security withholding doubled.  Previous withholding amounts had been consistent since beginning of year.

Social Security withholding

Hello there, @bfcaajc. I'm here to ensure that your taxes are calculating right.

When Social security (SS) withholding is incorrect, these could be due to the following reasons:

  • QuickBooks is not updated or there is an internet interruption during the update.
  • Using the incorrect tax table version.
  • Employee's YTD is off.

To get this fix, ensure that the above information is verified. Once done, check if everything is working fine.

Please let me know how things go on your end. I'd be glad to help. Have a nice day.
