Timesheets Cumbersome to Use

I find the basic timesheets very cumbersome to use and navigate.

I'm a single user filly out my time to be billed directly to customers.

Previously I was using Avaza to manage my timesheets and invoices and the process was much more intuitive.

The layout is much more user friendly.

I wanted to use QuickBooks instead so that my timesheets and invoices would be directly linked to my accounting. But the process is so much worse. The time entry screen only seems to be accessible by selecting 'New" and choosing 'weekly timesheets' I can't figure out how to view timesheets without going to new first. There is no dedicated link to the timesheets in the main dashboard.

The method of selecting the timesheet week is also awful if you are trying to quickly compare what you did week from week, you need to select from a dropdown, instead of being able to toggle forward or backwards through the weeks.

I hate the time entry method as well, the layout just doesn't feel natural.

There is no timer option, and I don't think the timesheets can be accessed at all through the mobile app.

There is a QuickBooks time app, formally t-sheets (talk about confusing), but that doesn't work with what I have.

The only reason I have subscribed to 'Essentials' over 'easy start' was for the time tracking ability and it has been a major disappointment. Avaza was free, and did the job much better.

Thanks for the reply Jessica,

Can you confirm that timesheets are not accessible on mobile? Or am I just missing something?

That is correct, @andrewdroth.

The QuickBooks Online phone application does not provide timesheets because we have a product (QuickBooks Time), for this.

I hope this is helpful!  Please let me know if I can assist with anything further! I'm only a post away.

Can I add Quickbooks Time to the Easy Start package?

Because if that's a better product I think I end up saving money in that scenario...

Oh, nevermind. That's very deceptive. LOL.

@Jessica_young I'm confused by this.

Wouldn't the regular timesheets be considered a product of yours also?

If I'm paying twice as much a month for that feature you think I'd be able to access it from the mobile app.

I'm happy to help clarify, @andrewdroth.

I totally understand why entering timesheets in QuickBooks Online would be a helpful feature on the go via the app!  Our time tracking application QuickBooks Time comes at an additional cost because it includes a robust feature set that adds to what already exists in QuickBooks Online.

A workaround here would be to login to QuickBooks Online on your mobile web browser, which will have all of the same features as the web version of the program.  Here, you could use timesheets and enter your time on the go.

I want to encourage you to share any feedback you have with our Development team for future improvements within the product by checking out this article: Submit feedback to QuickBooks Time.

As always, the Community exists and if there's anything else we can assist with, you can simply reply to this post, and I'm happy to work through this with you!

Timesheets Cumbersome to Use

Is that the proper place to submit feedback if my concerns are with Quickbooks Online Timesheets rather than the Quickbooks Time product?

I'd prefer to provide feedback about the service I'm currently using.
