Trying to Download 1st quarter DE9 and DE9C and 941

For some reason I am not able to find the 1st quarter of the DE9 and DE9C and 941 in my quickbooks 2019. I was able to find it a few months ago but I am not able to find it now. I looked at my W2 data for my employees and the YTD amount for last year is all correct but how do I find my DE9 and DE9C and 941? I looked everyone and I confirmed with the state and federal that I filed it but I am not able to find it in quickbooks

Hi fds,

Let me guide you through finding your tax forms in QuickBooks.

In your filling history, you can see all forms filed electronically and manually as long as you save them in QuickBooks.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to your Employees tab at the top.
  2. Choose Payroll Center.
  3. In Filing History, select Saved Filing if you filed it manually. Choose E-filing if electronically filed.
  4. You can select the period and the type of forms you want to locate.

I added articles here for your future reference about saving and printing copies of filed taxes:

You can always ask for assistance in the Community. I’ll be around.

I don't see my first quarter filing for some reason. However, I was eventually able to find it  from a different folder in my computer under main tax history form. Any reason for this? Is it possible when I do updates it messes up my saved file directory?

Hi there, @fds.

When you’re going to update your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), the changes only applied to the feature of the service alone not with the files in it. Unless you are going to change the file path or upgrade it to a different version.

You can also secure hard copies of your forms, it might be handy in the future if you want to track or review over it.

I can see that this article will help you in the future if you have encountered an error in QBDT: 1099 E-File: QuickBooks Desktop setup, troubleshooting, & FAQs.

Let me know if you have other concerns about your form filing transactions. I’d be glad to be of assistance. Have a great week!
