Hello there, @caporter.

You can check the payroll setting and ensure all the accounts are active. Let me guide you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Your Company, select Payroll Settings.
  3. Click Preferences.
  4. Select Accounting Preferences
  5. From there, ensure that your accounts are active.
  6. Click OK below.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. A payroll agent would be able to further check on the root cause of the error via secured remote access session.

Here’s how to contact us:

  1. Go to: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Choose your QuickBooks Product
  3. Select Payroll
  4. Choose your type of Payroll Subscription
  5. Hit Payroll
  6. Click on the View Contact Info button to see the support number.

You can always visit our Employee and payroll taxes page for QuickBooks Online to learn some tips on managing your payroll.

Get back to me if you have follow up questions. I'm always here to help.
