Using tags for journal entries from third party payroll app
I've just discovered Tags and I love them!! I spend a few hours going through my 2020 expenses and tagging all the expenses to the different jobs/projects we're working. I can't tell you how great it is to have this information without having to manually track it in Excel. (I'm using Online Simple Start) The problem is I can't figure out how to tag my payroll. I read on here we aren't able to tag journal entries yet, but my third party payroll app transfers my payroll to QB a journal entry. Is there a way to convert the journal entry to an expanse that can be tagged? I only have 3 employees and only 2 of them work jobs/projects that need tags.
I was thinking of mapping all the payroll to a temporary account, then crediting it out of there and debiting it into the correct payroll account. Would that work to change it to a expense that could be tagged?
