W-2 - Foreign address

I work for a US company but live fulltime in Europe. My employer used my old US address and said they could not enter my european address as it was not an option. They also said, I must have an US address. I checked with IRS and with the older state where I used to live and both said that is not true. They said I should use my correct address in Europe. This way I do not have to file state taxes and only Federal. Does anyone know different? How do I have my employer correct my W2 and use my correct address in Europe?

W-2 - Foreign address

Hello there, @ethypt

Welcome to the Community. I can share some information that will help you in setting up the employee's address in QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks follows the coding system set for US addresses. In order to successfully match your employee's city, state, and zip code. First, confirm your employee again to verify the information he gave.

Once you confirmed that the employees' address is correct by using the USPS zip code database and the issue persists, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Customer Care Team. They have the ability to initiate a remote-viewing session to help verify what's causing the issue and will guide you with entering your employees' addresses.

You can check these resources for more information on how to invite and set up an employees account:

I’ve also attached a guide to complete your employee's setup in QuickBooks Online. This contains helpful resources to ensure everything is correct.

I appreciate you for coming to the Community. If you have other payroll questions or concerns, don't hesitate to let me know. I’ll be here anytime. Always take care!

W-2 - Foreign address

Thank you for the reply. But the employee has a foreign address. The problem is adding to Quickbooks since they follow the US zip code. How can we overnight that?
