Join nowI am trying to update W-4 for employees. When I try to edit the 2020 W-4 in QB I cannot type in Box 3, "Dependents Claimed in Dollars" box. Instead a black QB bubble pops up saying "If your Form W-4 has number of allowances, print the current year..." I need to fill in Box 3 in order for my employee to get the correct deductions but QB won't let me. Why not? My employee wants $4,500 put in Box 3.
I’ll make sure to fix this concern so can enter the amount successfully, @RKR21.
The online platform uses the browser’s cache to run faster. However, these can sometimes become corrupted, which affects the platform's functionalities. We can perform some steps here to get this resolve.
To start, try to access your account in a private window. Then check if you’re able to enter the amount. You can use these key shortcuts below for quick navigation:
Then go back to your main browser and clear the cache if it works. Doing this helps our applications run better. You can also use other supported browsers as an alternative.

Thanks for fixing this problem. It was very frustrating.
One other problem I am having is after the first of the year
my bank isn't connected to my QB. I've tried to reconnect
but no luck. I called my bank and they said to call QB.
Apparently that isn't an option anymore, so I don't know how
to resolve this issue.
I'm glad to hear that you're now able to update the W-4 for your employees, RKR21.
For the bank, you can link it as long as your financial institution allows their online banking to connect with QuickBooks. Just make to select the right website when on the list when you connect it.
Check out this article for your guide: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.
If your bank won't allow the sync, you can download transactions using a CSV file from their website. Then, manually import statements to QuickBooks.
I'll also appreciate it if you can tell me the name of your bank so I can check here on my end.
Let me know if you need anything else with QuickBooks. I'm always glad to help you.
