W2/W3 electronic submission duplicates

Today I submitted my W2/W3 files electronically.  During the process my internet went down.  I continued submitting when it rebooted, and I then got 2 confirmations (different numbers) that the files were accepted.  How do I recall one, or submit the info that they are duplicates?

Re: W2/W3 electronic submission duplicates

Hi there, tra63,

I can share some insights about the submitting duplicate forms electronically in QuickBooks.

Presently, Intuit can revoke your W-2 Forms only when you make the request before the service submits the forms to the Federal agency. You can reach out to us by following the steps below:

  1. Go to this link:
  2. Choose the Payroll menu.
  3. Click View Contact Info button.

If you're unable to notify us about your corrections, you'll need to file your Form W-2c or Form W-3c directly to the Social Security Administration.

However, if you submitted the exact same Form W-2 more than once, the resubmitted forms are automatically rejected as duplicates. To review the status of your form, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Employees menu.
  2. Choose Payroll Center.
  3. From the Payroll Center, go to the File Forms tab.
  4. In the Filing History section, click E-Filing tab.
  5. Click the View link in the Audit Trail column for more details.

That should do it, tra63. You may want to check this article to learn more about canceling you e-filed forms: Cancel an electronic payroll tax payment or form

Please let me know if you have any questions. I'll be happy to assist you any time. Have a good one!
