WA - Paid Family and Medical Leave CBA expiring in July

Our employees have been covered under a collective bargaining agreement and exempt from WA Paid Family and Medical Leave.  The agreement is expiring on July 31 .

How can I setup the tax deduction for the first payroll in August?  I followed the previous instructions on this site and set it up but QuickBooks calculated the taxes using year to date gross wages.

Thank you for your help!

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, SeattleQuestion.

To correct the taxes, you'll have to enter a liability adjustment for WA - Paid Family and Medical Leave. To get the specific amount, let's run the Payroll Detail Review.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports at the top menu bar, and select Employees & Payroll.
  2. Choose Payroll Detail Review.
  3. Set the correct date range.
  4. Click the Customize Report button, and select Filter at the top.
  5. Search Payroll in the Search Filters search field, and select Payroll Item.
  6. Under Payroll Item, click the drop-down arrow and select your state taxes.
  7. Click OK twice.

Now,  you're ready to adjust the payroll liability for August's payroll.
