Want to change regular hourly rate? show me some samples?

Hello there, piim2292!

Let’s go ahead and change the hourly rate of your employees, so you can continue working with their payroll. I’ll provide screenshots for your visual reference.

We can continue in the Employees section since you’re already in there. Please click the name of the employee, and then the Pencil icon beside Pay or the Edit Employee button.

In section number 4, where you see the Hourly rate, it appears to be not editable. However, if you click the Pencil icon beside any allowances or items that show in there, you’ll be able to change the rate.

That's it. Easy right? If there's anything I can help with, please let me know. You can also check the article about changing employee's payroll information for additional reference.

I ran into the same problem and did what you said but there's no done or save button and when I exit out, it reverts back to the rate I previously had.

Hello, @quantum72.

There are several possible reasons why you're unable to save the changes you've made into your employees' hourly rate. Let's first try accessing your QuickBooks account using a private/incognito browser. This way, it helps isolate the issue and verify if this is a browser-related issue.

  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

Once logged in, let's update your employee's hourly rate. You can see the Done button at the bottom right corner of your screen.

Once completed, you'd want to go back to your regular browser and start clearing the cache and its temporary internet files. This way, it’s a good way to get a clean slate for your browser.  Also, you can try using a different web browser.
