Hey there, mchuck.

New York requires employers to pay for the New York Family Leave Insurance. The calculation is based on your gross wages. Intuit won't debit you for this, it's the employer's responsibility to submit the payment to the insurance companies.

Any benefit payments reported on Form 1099 are issued from the State Fund, or the private insurance provider that paid the employees.

You can find more information about New York PFL in our article here: New York Paid Family Leave Insurance payroll deduction

I'll be here to help if you have any additional questions. Have a great day!

Hello lala100300!

Thanks for posting here. Allow me to help you with the Paid Family Leave.

Once set up, the system will automatically calculate and include it on your payroll. It could be that there was an adjustment made to the payroll settings.

It depends on the state how to set it up. Please check these links so you'll know where to go and review the settings, rate, as well as effective date:

If you're also in New York, Paid Family Leave is added as a deduction. You can also visit the NY Paid Family Leave website to learn more about this program.

Also, I added this article if you need help how to run payroll reports: Run payroll reports in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be here if you need more help with this. Take care!
