New York requires employers to pay for the New York Family Leave Insurance. The calculation is based on your gross wages. Intuit won't debit you for this, it's the employer's responsibility to submit the payment to the insurance companies.
Any benefit payments reported on Form 1099 are issued from the State Fund, or the private insurance provider that paid the employees.

Hi....Im confused...the family leave tax was being deducted automatically from my employees checks & all of a sudden it stopped ! Why ? a few months later I received a notice from workers comp saying Im not paying the family leave tax. Why was it automatically done thru intruit & then stopped

Thanks for posting here. Allow me to help you with the Paid Family Leave.
Once set up, the system will automatically calculate and include it on your payroll. It could be that there was an adjustment made to the payroll settings.
It depends on the state how to set it up. Please check these links so you'll know where to go and review the settings, rate, as well as effective date:
If you're also in New York, Paid Family Leave is added as a deduction. You can also visit the NY Paid Family Leave website to learn more about this program.
