We filed 1099 on January 30, and missed a cut off time for Quickbooks to mail the copies to the vendors. However, it looks like they are getting additional 1099?

Hi there, t-hopps.

Did you receive a notification in QBO that you need to process your 1099s? If you're able to manually file them and provide copies to all of your contractors, then you can ignore the prompt or reminders about processing the form.

Feel free to check our our FAQs for processing 1099s to get more details: Common questions about 1099s.

If you receive a notification from the IRS or your state agency, I would recommend reaching out to them to get more information about.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Our vendors received 2 copies of their 1099-MISCs. By the time we were ready to e-File, according to QBO, we had passed the cut-off time for the vendor copies to be mailed out by QB so we mailed them out from our office ourselves and proceeded with the IRS e-Filing. Recently however, our vendors had contacted us to let us know that they've received 2 copies of their 1099-MISC, the one that we mailed and another one that looks more automated, batch processed. We suspect that QB might have gone ahead and mailed out the vendor copies anyway but is there any way to confirm this?  Our vendors are under the impression that we e-Filed their 1099-MISC twice. Is this even possible?

Hi there, @t-hopps

Thanks for following up on your vendors being mailed their 1099s.

For security purposes, I recommend reaching out to a member of the Support Team. Agents have specialized tools to access your account details to determine better how your vendors received the mailed 1099s.

Getting in touch with a live specialist is super easy and only takes a few clicks. Take a look:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click Help (?) at the top right.
  3. Choose Contact Us to connect with a live support agent.

Also, you can refer to this IRS Support webpage as well: Let Us Help You.
