We have received bank deposits from a company we do not do business with. The only contact information I can discover is "Intuit Payroll Services". But when I call the number listed, no one seems to be able to help me.
These deposits are in error and I need to return the money to the sender - but I can't find them.
How can I figure out who sent us money so I can return it?
@cindyratliff At the very least, your bank should be able to send the money back to Intuit.
It sounds like either another QB user put in the wrong financial information for one of their customers, or said customer did, or Intuit themselves screwed up.
Whether the origin of the money actually gets the money back from Intuit after is an entirely different matter.
Either way, the staff on this forum won't help, and you'll probably be in for several hours of phone calls with the higher-up Intuit staff; I'd just start with your bank.
Thanks! I did start with my bank, but they referred me to the depositor - which is Intuit Payroll.
It's not unheard of for our Sales Team to not keep Accounting in the loop on expected funds - but this is now 3 months and 2 deposits so I'm guessing it was someone entered the account number incorrectly.
Looks like we will just hold their funds until someone comes knocking. Eventually they will figure out their mistake and do a trace themselves.
Thank you!!
