We use QB payroll services. We just received a form RT-6 - FL State Dept of Revenue Employer's Quarterly Report. Do we need to fill this in or does QB payroll cover it?

Hello Christine. QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, Premium, or Elite will automatically generate and process your payroll tax forms if you have opted in to have us file them for you. I'll explain this process in more detail and clarify if you need to complete your Form RT-6.

 

Let's verify first if the Automated Taxes and Forms feature is enabled. QuickBooks will process your taxes and forms for you if this is on.

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon. Click Payroll Settings.
  2. Head to the Taxes and Forms section.
  3. Confirm if the Automated taxes and forms is enabled. 
     


If you have chosen to opt out and selected the I'll pay and file the right agencies through their website or by email, you'll need to file and pay your taxes outside of QuickBooks.

 

If your payroll setup is correct, we can download the form directly within the program. Here are the steps to follow:

 

  1. Head to the Taxes menu, then click Payroll Tax.
  2. Select Filings.
  3. You will see your forms to file under Action Needed. Forms that are due later will appear in Coming Up. You can use the Filter option to find the specific form you need more quickly.
  4. Select File on the form you want to download, then click Preview to download it.
