What should I do when trying to access my 1099's sent via Intuit and getting the "Oops, something went wrong" message?

Hi clkelly,

The error is triggered if you have QuickBooks Online and you'll use the same email when to sign up for a QBSE account upon accepting the invite to view your 1099 form. You will have to use a different email to sign up for a QBSE account.

Please contact your client and ask them to replace your contractor's email in their books, so the can resend your the email with link to view your 1099 form.

You can always go back to this thread if you have other questions.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand. I have a QBSE account already, and I use the same email for that account as I the email I gave my client.

Do I need to create another account just to see my 1099?

Hi there, @clkelly.

Thanks for following up here. I want to provide information with accessing your 1099s in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

The error message that's occurring seems to be a browser issue. Let's go ahead and log in to your account using an incognito/private browser window and access it from there. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to help you open it:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P.
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N.

If you're able to download the form, you'll need to clear your browser's cache to optimize its performance.

If you're unable to download the form, let's try accessing your account through a different browser.

However, if you're still unable to download it using the steps above, I suggest resetting your password.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Gear icon in the left-hand corner.
  2. Choose Security from the left menu, then Edit.
  3. Log out from your account and log back in again.
  4. Access your 1099 form and download it.

Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions. Have a good rest of your day!

This is so wrong it's ridiculous.  There is no browser problem, Inuit is trying to force everyone to create a new account in QB SE in order to access the 1099s created by their existing QBOE clients.  I already have an Intuit account and several clients use QBOE, I will not create another account just to access the 1099s they efiled.  It's just plain stupid.
