Thank you for reaching out, admin346. I appreciate your diligence in addressing the payroll issue and your attention to detail in this matter. Let’s first verify whether the incorrect account number is still active, so we can resolve this and ensure your employee receives their paycheck without any further delay.
If the given wrong bank account is active, you can request a direct deposit reversal in QuickBooks. You can submit the reversal within five business days from the pay date.
Here's how:
- On the left panel, click Payroll.
- Select Employees, then click Paycheck list.
- Select the paycheck you want to reverse.
- Under Actions column, choose Reverse.
- On the Reversal reason dropdown, select the reason for the direct deposit reversal.
Please note that there will be a fee for requesting this. Check this article for reference: Reverse a direct deposit in QuickBooks Payroll.
After submitting the reversal, please wait for it to be processed. Then, you can pay your employee with a regular check while waiting to be approved. Once approved, update your employee's bank account in your payroll account.
The funds will not go through once the wrong account is closed or does not exist. Subsequently, void the paycheck and update the employee's bank account.
After that, recreate the paycheck and send a new direct deposit. The rejected amount will be credited back to your company's payroll account.

I've included this article as a helpful resource for future reference, which explains how to generate a printed copy of your paychecks if needed.
