If you cancel your payroll subscription immediately, you'll need to pay and file your scheduled payroll taxes manually, Aliya. Managing tax obligations is essential, so let me share what you can do to ensure you handle these responsibilities smoothly.
Once you cancel a payroll subscription, you'll no longer have access to the features provided by the service, including the scheduling and payment of payroll taxes. Before doing so, complete and process your final payroll, then print the necessary payroll reports. If you pay or file your taxes, settle any outstanding tax deposits, and process and file any unpaid annual or quarterly forms.
To proceed with the cancelation, follow the steps below:
- Go to the Gear icon and select Subscriptions and billing under the Profile column.
- Under the Billed to you section, navigate to Payroll subscription and click Cancel.
- Fill out the online cancelation form to complete your cancelation.

Additionally, Intuit will charge a $150.00 fee for preparing year-end filings and/or W-2s upon your request for QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, Premium, or Elite.
