When calculating an employee signing bonus is this calculated counting the days to 6 mo's or using the date in 6 months?

In QuickBooks Online, you have two options on how to create a bonus check. Here are the following:

• Pay the bonus separately from a regular payroll check.
• Withhold at regular withholding rates on the employee's regular salary.

With regard to the calculation, you have the option to enter the bonus amounts As net pay (You pay the employee portion of taxes for the bonus check) or As gross pay (We'll figure out the net pay for you.) when creating a separate bonus pay.
