Why are my time entries disappearing after being saved? When I showed tech line, I could not even access weekly time sheet

Hello @kynerlaw,

Thank you for posting here in the Community. I'm here to help you enter time data in QuickBooks Online.

Ideally, the time entries you enter in the system should remain after being saved. You can perform some troubleshooting steps to isolate and resolve the issue.

I suggest you start by running the Recent/Edited Time Activities report. This way, you'll be able to verify if the transactions are deleted or not saved.

Here's how:

  1. On the left navigation bar, click Reports.
  2. Go to the search bar.
  3. Type in Time and select Recent/Edited Time Activities
  4. Filter the date range.
  5. View the transactions.

If the transactions you're looking for aren't showing, please proceed with the troubleshooting. Since you're having issues saving and viewing weekly timesheets, the browser's stored cache may be full.

It can cause unusual behavior like what you encounter with the time entries. I'd first suggest logging into your QBO account using a private browser. It doesn't store data in the cache.

Thus, it's a great way to isolate browser-related issues. Use these keyboard shortcuts depending on the browser you're using:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

From there, go back and attempt to enter time entries. If it works, let's clear your browser's cache to have a clean slate, so it'll function efficiently.

If private browsing doesn't work, use another supported web engine to get the best and most secure experience with the program.

I would also feel the same way too in that situation if the problem isn't fixed and there's no callback received. Usually, the duration will depend on the number of users seeking support for QuickBooks concerns.

To follow up, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team again. Our Customer Support Team is available from 6 AM - 6 PM PT (Monday - Friday) and 6 AM - 3 PM PT (Saturday).

Please reach them through these steps:

  1. Click the Help tab at the top menu bar.
  2. Select Get help from a human.
  3. Choose Chat with us or Have us call you.

For additional reference, I've attached a link you can use about how to track user activities in your account, as well as some information about the special users that QuickBooks creates: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.

You're always welcome to post any questions you have in this space related to entering timesheet details in QuickBooks. I'll be happy to help you some more. Have a good day.
